Frequently Asked Questions

  • What types of underlying charts does FiboChart work with?
FiboChart can overlay any linear (vs. logarithmic) stock chart and is not tied to any particular source of data, charting package, or online brokerage. Its simplicity lies in the ability to help graphically identify naturally occurring price reversals on any chart.

  • How many computers can I run FiboChart on?
Per the FiboChart license agreement you can run the application on up to three computers with a single license.

  • What software do I need on my computer to run FiboChart?
FiboChart is a stand-alone application and requires no installation. This makes it convenient to run on a computer that may otherwise be locked down from installing software packages. When you download the FiboChart application, you can simply unzip FiboChart.exe onto your desktop and double-click it. Upon running the application for the first time only you will be prompted to accept the End-User License Agreement (the EULA contains the standard disclaimer that you agree to not hold Golden Mean Software accountable for any trading losses). Upon acceptance of the EULA you will be prompted for a registration key which you will receive via email.

  • Can I save the Retracement and Extension levels in order to recall them later?
Yes, you can save an unlimited number of templates by giving each a unique name (generally matching the stock ticker name). Our existing customers tend to create template names using a combination of ticker symbol and date.

  • Does FiboChart work on multiple monitors?
Yes, FiboChart works with multiple monitors.

  • The FiboChart icon displays in the taskbar but the windows does not display.
If you see the icon in the task bar at the bottom of your screen but don't see the FiboChart window, it may be open off-screen, usually because it was last closed off-screen (probably on a secondary monitor that is not currently active).

To bring FiboChart back on-screen just perform the following steps (note: these steps can be applied to any application that opens off-screen):

    1. Hover over the icon in the task/tool bar
    2. When the small window pops up showing the application, right-click on that window.
    3. From the context menu that pops up, select 'Move'. Note: if 'Move' is disabled then you will first have to select 'Restore'.
    4. If your secondary monitor was setup to the right of your primary monitor, press and hold the 'left' cursor key until you see the FiboChart window appear from the right. Vice versa if your secondary monitor was setup to the left of your primary.

Once you see the window appear, you can then use your mouse to move the window and drag it into full view. From here you can drag it to the top of the screen to maximize it.
